Nanocobalt based (Co@Co(OH)2) sand nanocomposite applied to manganese extraction from contaminated water

This study presents the adsorption capability of a filter composed sand coated with cobalt nanomaterials (CoNM) for extraction manganese ions from aqueous media. The was performed in both batch and dynamic modes order to evaluate capabilities free-standing CoNM CoNM-coated sand. Langmuir Freundlich isotherm models were applied batch-mode. model estimated maximum capacity 17.86 mg/g corresponding single layer adsorption. Nevertheless, also characterized high coefficient determination, suggesting multilayered mechanism Mn on CoNM. Dynamic mode studies conducted different influent concentrations, pH presence foreign or competing (Fe3+, As3+, As5+ Cu2+). experimental data fitted linearized Thomas Yoon-Nelson determine capacities. confirmed owing 3360 active at = 6.
